African Party for Independence of the Masses (in French: ''Parti Africain pour l'Indépendance des Masses'') is a black nationalist political party in Senegal Senegal,; Wolof: ''Senegaal''; Pulaar: 𞤅𞤫𞤲𞤫𞤺𞤢𞥄𞤤𞤭 (Senegaali); Arabic: السنغال ''As-Sinighal'') officially the Republic of Senegal,; Wolof: ''Réewum Senegaal''; Pulaar : 𞤈𞤫𞤲𞤣𞤢𞥄𞤲𞤣𞤭 .... It was legally registered in July 1982. PAIM publishes ''Nation Africaine''. PAIM favours a form of direct participative democracy. In spite of its name, PAIM shares no organic link with PAI.
