Afghanistan-Norway relations are bilateral diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and Norway. Afghanistan has an embassy in Oslo. Norway has an embassy in Kabul, although it has been closed since the August 2021 Taliban takeover of Kabul. History Afghanistan and Norway have had diplomatic relations since 1931. The two countries have a long history of cooperation, and Norway has been a strong supporter of Afghanistan's development. A human rights defender or human rights activist is a person who, individually or with others, acts to promote or protect human rights. They can be journalists, environmentalists, whistleblowers, trade unionists, lawyers, teachers, housing campaigners, participants in direct action, or just individuals acting alone. They can defend rights as part of their jobs or in a voluntary capacity.
