The Adventist University of the Philippines is a private Christian coeducational higher education institution located in Silang, Cavite, Philippines. The university is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It holds an autonomous status granted by the Commission on Higher Education. It is part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system. History The Adventist University of the Philippines was established by Seventh-day Adventist Church missionaries. In 1915, A. G. Daniels visited the Philippines and laid plans for the organization of an academic institution. Daniels was followed by L. V. Finster who reported that in 1916, I. A. Steinel and O. F. The Seventh-day Adventist Church is an Adventist Protestant Christian denomination which is distinguished by its observance of Saturday, the seventh day of the week in the Christian (Gregorian) and the Hebrew calendar, as the Sabbath, and its emphasis on the imminent Second Coming (advent) of Jesus Christ. The denomination grew out of the Millerite movement in the United States during the mid-19th century and it was formally established in 1863. Among its co-founders was Ellen G.
