Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC)
The Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) is an Abu Dhabi government entity responsible for shaping advanced research and development (R&D) for technology in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The current ATRC Secretary-General is Faisal Al Bannai Organization ATRC has three entities that manage the council's research areas:   * Technology Innovation Institute - This is the applied research technology pillar and global research and development institution. * ASPIRE - This is the technology and business solutions pillar. * VentureOne - This is the commercialization arm that facilitates the transition of prototypes from lab to market. ATRC was established in May 2020 by former UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan ( ar,  خليفة بن زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان‎; 7 September 1948 – 13 May 2022) was the second president of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Abu Dhabi, serving from November 2004 until his death in May 2022. Khalifa was the eldest son of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president of the United Arab Emirates. As crown prince of Abu Dhabi, Khalifa carried out some aspects of the presidency in a ''de facto'' capacity from the late 1990s when his father experienced health problems. Faisal Al Bannai is an Emirati business executive who is known as a leader in defence technology and advanced research. He also serves as Secretary General of the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EDGE Group. Technology Innovation Institute
The Technology Innovation Institute (TII) is an Abu Dhabi government funded research institution that operates in the areas of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, autonomous robotics, cryptography, advanced materials, digital science, directed energy and secure systems. The institute is a part of the Abu Dhabi Government’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC).
