Adult Contemporary (radio Network)
Adult Contemporary (also known as AC) was a 24-hour music format produced by Dial Global. It targets a general radio audience between the ages of 35–49 with soft rock music from the 1970s to right now. Artists featured on this network are Phil Collins, Maroon 5, Billy Joel, Rod Stewart, Kelly Clarkson, and many more artists. Jones Radio Networks was recently purchased by Triton Media Group. Although "AC" wasn't affected by it, the satellite feed was relocated into Dial Global's portfolio. Radio Network
There are two types of radio network currently in use around the world: the one-to-many (simplex communication) broadcast network commonly used for public information and mass-media entertainment, and the two-way radio ( duplex communication) type used more commonly for public safety and public services such as police, fire, taxicabs, and delivery services. Dial Global
Westwood One is an American radio network owned by Cumulus Media. The company syndicates talk, music, and sports programming. The company takes its name from an earlier network also named Westwood One, a company founded in 1978. The company was, at various times, managed by CBS Radio, the radio arm of CBS Corporation and Viacom. It was later purchased by the private equity firm The Gores Group before merging with Dial Global in 2011. In December 2013, Dial Global was, in turn, acquired by Cumulus Media. Prior to the sale's completion, Dial Global re-assumed the Westwood One name. Triton Digital, LLC, formerly Triton Media Group, is a digital audio technology and advertising company based in Los Angeles. The group was formally owned by E. W. Scripps Company which sold Triton to IHeartMedia in October 2020. The company works with audio publishers in over 35 countries including brands such as Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, AccuRadio, CBS Radio, and ESPN Radio. Soft rock is a form of rock music that originated in the late 1960s in Southern California and the United Kingdom which smoothed over the edges of singer-songwriter and pop rock, relying on simple, melodic songs with big, lush productions. Hits & Favorites, also known as ABC AC, was a 24-hour music format produced by Cumulus Media Networks (now Westwood One). ABC AC combined a highly researched Adult Contemporary music mix targeted to women aged 25–49. Citadel Broadcasting purchased ABC Radio Networks (now Cumulus Media Networks) and the ABC owned-and-operated radio stations from The Walt Disney Company in February 2006. The Citadel acquisition has been completed and did not include Radio Disney or the ESPN Stations. Citadel merged with Cumulus Media on September 16, 2011.
