Adrijana Hodžić
Adrijana Hodžić (, ; born 1975) is a Kosovar politician of Bosniak ethnicity who is currently serving as the Deputy Mayor of North Mitrovica since 10 December 2020. Prior to this she served as the Minister of Administration and Local Government of Kosovo from 12 April 2019 to 3 February 2020. Biography Hodžić was born to a Bosniak father and an Albanian mother in 1975 in Titova Mitrovica, which at the time was part of the SAP Kosovo, SR Serbia and SFR Yugoslavia. She gained experience in running businesses of public importance immediately after the Kosovo War, when as a regional manager in the non-governmental sector she managed projects in all Serb areas in North Kosovo, including enclaves in the south. First through humanitarian actions (providing accommodation to endangered families, distribution of food, medicine and firewood) and then through a series of economic development projects in these communities. Mitrovica, Kosovo
Mitrovica ( sq-definite, Mitrovicë; sr-cyrl, Митровица) or Kosovska Mitrovica ( sr-cyrl, Косовска Митровица) is a city and Municipalities of Kosovo, municipality located in Kosovo. Settled on the banks of Ibar River, Ibar and Sitnica rivers, the city is the administrative center of the District of Mitrovica. In 2013, following the North Kosovo crisis (2011–2013), North Kosovo crisis, the Kosovo Serbs, Serb-majority municipality of North Mitrovica was created, dividing the city in two administrative units. Serbian Enclaves In Kosovo
Serbian enclaves are settlements in Kosovo outside North Kosovo ("south of the Ibar") where Serbs form a majority. After the initial outflow after the Kosovo War the situation of the Kosovo Serb communities has improved and under the Ahtisaari plan minority rights have been promoted. Serbs have often built roadblocks and barricades, to prevent access by Kosovo Police and customs officers. The 2013 Brussels Agreement allowed full operation of Kosovo Police and customs officials, while the Community of Serb Municipalities is planned to be created within the Republic of Kosovo legal framework. The Judiciary of Kosovo is the collection of the central Kosovo institutions that exercises judiciary, judicial authority in Kosovo. Social Democratic Union (Kosovo)
The Social Democratic Union ( bs, Socijaldemokratska Unija, SDU) is a minority interest political party in Kosovo representing Bosniaks in Kosovo, Bosniaks. It was founded by Duda Balje, who is also the party’s only Assembly Member. Balje was a member of the Vakat Coalition in the 2019 Kosovan parliamentary election, 2019 legislative elections, who then later moved to the Democratic League of Kosovo, LDK parliamentary group. Duda Balje
Duda Balje (born 16 October 1977) is a Bosniaks in Kosovo, Kosovar Bosniak politician. A member of the Vakat Coalition, she served as a member of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Kosovan Assembly from 2001 to 2017. She chaired the Commission on Human Rights, Gender Equality, Missing Persons and Petitions. She declared on her Facebook page that she will vote against a new Civil Code that would legalize same-sex marriage. She decided to vote against because it does not match her religious beliefs. The Community of Serb Municipalities ( sr, / ), or Association of Serb Municipalities ( sq, Asociacioni i Komunave Serbe, AKS), is a planned self-governing association of municipalities with a Serb majority population in Kosovo. The proposal for the association came as a result of the 2013 Brussels Agreement negotiated and concluded by the governments of Kosovo and Serbia. In accordance with the competences given by the European Charter of Local Self-Government and Kosovo law, the participating municipalities would be entitled to cooperate in exercising their powers collectively through the association. 2021 Kosovan Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Kosovo on 14 February 2021. The results were a landslide victory for Vetëvendosje led by Albin Kurti and its coalition partner, Vjosa Osmani, former speaker of the parliament of Kosovo. The alliance won more than 50% of the total votes, the highest share since the first elections held in 2001, while their nearest rivals, the Democratic Party, finished in second place, trailing by more than 33%.
