Adriana Samuel
Adriana Samuel Ramos (born April 12, 1966) is a Brazilian volleyball and beach volleyball player, who won the silver medal in the inaugural women's beach volleyball tournament at the 1996 Summer Olympics, partnering with Mônica Rodrigues. Samuel begun her career with indoor volleyball, even becoming a part of Brazil women's national volleyball team. She competed at the 1984 FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championship, the 1985 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup, and the 1986 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. However, she left the court in 1992, moving into the beach by forming a partnership with Mônica Rodrigues. She also represented her native country at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, where she claimed the bronze medal, teaming up with Sandra Pires (who had defeated Samuel in Atlanta). Jacqueline "Jackie" Louise Cruz Silva, (born February 13, 1962 in Rio de Janeiro) is a retired female volleyball player from Brazil, who won the gold medal in the inaugural women's beach volleyball tournament at the 1996 Summer Olympics, partnering Sandra Pires. Silva was first drafted by the Brazil women's national volleyball team at the age of 14. She was part of the team who took Brazil to its first Olympics, 1980 Moscow and 1984 Los Angeles. The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour (known between 2003 and 2012 as the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour for sponsorship reasons) was the worldwide professional beach volleyball tour for both men and women organized by the ' ( FIVB), the sport's global governing body. Karolyn Kirby (born June 30, 1961, in Brookline, Massachusetts) is a retired female beach volleyball player from the United States. She won the bronze medal at the 1997 Beach Volleyball World Championships, 1997 World Championships in Los Angeles, California, partnering Nancy Reno. Liz Masakayan
Liz Masakayan (born December 31, 1964 in Quezon City, Philippines) is a former indoor and beach volleyball player, and is currently a coach. She participated in the 1988 Summer Olympics with the United States women's national volleyball team, and as a beach volleyball player won a total of 47 tournaments in her career. Early life Volleyball was the last organized sport Masakayan tried out for in her first year (10th grade) at Santa Monica High School (a three-year school back in the 1980s). Her first year was spent on the junior varsity squad, and the last two on the varsity counterpart, where the team won the California state championship in 1981. Masakayan played Little League baseball when she was ten, the first year it allowed girls to play due to Title IX. Most of the time she was the only girl on the team.
