Adrian Wong (basketball)
John Adrian Abando Wong (born February 10, 1996) is a Filipino-American professional basketball player for the Converge FiberXers of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). After growing up in Dallas, Texas, he moved to the Philippines to pursue his college and professional basketball career. Early life and high school career Wong was born in Euless, Texas to parents who were both Filipino nurses and grew up in Dallas. He started playing basketball in the 2nd grade when his father signed him up for a basketball camp. One year later, he played AAU basketball for the Net Raiders. After that team disbanded, he transferred to the Texas Select team. He played for that team until his senior year. He also played at Trinity High School, where he became teammates with future NBA leader in blocks Myles Turner. In his senior year, he averaged 10.6 points per game and 4 assists. The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is a men's professional basketball league in the Philippines composed of twelve company-branded franchised teams. Chris Newsome
Christopher Elijah Duque Newsome (born July 25, 1990) is a Filipino American professional basketball player for the Meralco Bolts of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Early life and high school career Newsome was born in San Jose, California. He is the second child of Carmelita (née Duque), a Filipina, who hails from Parañaque and Eric, an African American. He has an older brother, Eric Jr. and younger sisters Nishelle and Melissa. When the Newsomes moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, he attended his secondary education at Rio Rancho High School. His first sport was baseball and football, but did not play basketball until he reached seventh grade. He helped the Rio Rancho HS Rams win the 5A State Championship in 2007. 2019 PBA Draft
The 2019 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) rookie draft was an event that allows teams to take turns selecting amateur basketball players and other eligible players, including half-Filipino foreign players. The league determined the drafting order based on the performance of two-thirds of the member teams from the 2019 season, with the worst team picking first. The UAAP Season 80 basketball tournaments were the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball tournaments for the 2017–18 school year. The tournaments are divided into men's, women's and juniors' divisions, for male and female college players and male high school players, respectively. An anterior cruciate ligament injury occurs when the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is either stretched, partially torn, or completely torn. The most common injury is a complete tear. UE Red Warriors refer to the collegiate men's varsity teams of the University of the East. The women's collegiate varsity teams are called the UE Lady Warriors. Rey Mark G. "Mac" Belo (born February 12, 1993) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Meralco Bolts of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Early life Hailing from Midsayap, Cotabato, Belo was born on February 12, 1993. His father is from Panay, Capiz and migrated to Cotabato. He attended St. Mary's Academy of Midsayap for his high school education and later entered the Far Eastern University for his collegiate studies. Norman Aaron Black (born December 3, 1996) is a Filipino-American professional basketball player for the Meralco Bolts of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He won the PBA Outstanding Rookie award in 2021. He is the son of former PBA Best Import Norman Black, who is also the head coach of Meralco. College career After playing in high school for the Ateneo Blue Eaglets, Black committed to the senior team of Ateneo. He didn't play that season as he was a team captain for the Philippine team in the 2014 FIBA Asia U-18 Championship. He made his college debut the next season, scoring 11 points in a win over the Adamson Soaring Falcons. The De La Salle Green Archers (also known simply as the Green Archers) are the men's varsity teams representing De La Salle University in the Philippines.
