Adrian Grady
Adrian Grady (born November 21, 1985) is a former American football defensive lineman. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Indianapolis Colts in 2009. He played college football at Louisville. He has also been a member of the New England Patriots, St. Louis Rams and Hartford Colonials. Early years Grady attended Coffee High School in Douglas, Georgia, where he played football as a defensive lineman and linebacker. He recorded 85 tackles as a sophomore defensive lineman before switching to linebacker as a junior; he missed the season with a leg injury. As a senior, he recorded 69 tackles and two sacks, earning second-team all-region honors. College career After graduating high school, Grady attended the University of Louisville, where started two of the 12 games he played in as a true freshman in 2005. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. 2009 NFL Draft
The 2009 NFL Draft was the seventy-fourth annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible football players. The draft took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, New York, on April 25 and 26, 2009. The draft consisted of two rounds on the first day, starting at 4:00 pm EDT, and five rounds on the second day, starting at 10:00 am EDT. To compensate for the time change from the previous year and in an effort to help shorten the draft, teams were no longer on the clock for 15 minutes in the first round and 10 minutes in the second round. Practice Squad
In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. Because the players on the practice squad are familiar with the team's plays and formations, the practice squad serves as a way to develop inexperienced players for promotion to the main roster. This is particularly important for professional gridiron football teams, which do not have formal minor league farm team affiliates to train players.
