Adrian Garcea
Adrian Garcea (born 1 June 1999) is a Romanian long-distance runner. In 2018, he finished in 14th place in the men's 5000 metres event at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships held in Tampere, Finland. He also competed in the men's 1500 metres event where he was disqualified after infringement of the inside border. In 2019, he competed in the senior men's race at the 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships held in Aarhus, Denmark. He finished in 118th place. In the same year, he also competed in the men's 1500 metres event at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships The 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships were the 12th edition of the biennial athletics competition between European athletes under the age of twenty-three. Long-distance Running
Long-distance running, or endurance running, is a form of continuous running over distances of at least . Physiologically, it is largely aerobic in nature and requires stamina as well as mental strength. Within endurance running comes two different types of respiration. The more prominent side that runners experience more frequently is aerobic respiration. This occurs when oxygen is present, and the body is able to utilize oxygen to help generate energy and muscle activity. On the other side, anaerobic respiration occurs when the body is deprived of oxygen, and this is common towards the final stretch of races when there is a drive to speed up to a greater intensity. 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships
The 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships were hosted in the city of Aarhus in Denmark. It was the 43rd edition of the championships and was held on 30 March 2019. A part of the course was run on the grounds and grass roof of the Moesgaard Museum. The race was held in challenging conditions, due to the very muddy course and steep hills. The senior men's race was won by Ugandan Joshua Cheptegei, while the senior women's race was won by Kenyan Hellen Obiri. Schedule In keeping with past events, all five races, including the mixed relay, were held in the middle of the day. The junior races preceded the senior races, and the senior men's event concluded the program.
