Admiral ( bn, এ্যাডমিরাল, Admiral) is a four-star commissioned naval flag officer rank in the Bangladesh Navy. It is the highest achieved rank in the Bangladesh Navy. Admiral ranks above the three-star rank of Vice Admiral. The rank is denoted as a full-fledged Admiral to extricate subordinate officers like Vice Admiral and Rear Admiral. The rank was established in 2016, when Admiral M. The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) ( bn, নৌবাহিনী প্রধান, Nou Bahini Pradhan) is the commander and usually the highest-ranking officer of the Bangladesh Navy. The position is abbreviated as CNS in Bangladesh Navy, and currently held by an Admiral. The current CNS is Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal, who took office on 25 July 2020. An officer of three-star rank is a senior commander in many of the armed services holding a rank described by the NATO code of OF-8. The term is also used by some armed forces which are not NATO members. A pea coat (or peacoat, pea jacket, pilot jacket, reefer jacket) is an outer coat, generally of a navy-coloured heavy wool, originally worn by sailors of European and later American navies. Pea coats are characterized by short length, broad lapels, double-breasted fronts, often large wooden, metal or plastic buttons, three or four in two rows, and vertical or slash pockets. Gorget patches (collar tabs, collar patches) are an insignia in the form of paired patches of cloth or metal on the collar of a uniform (gorget), used in the military and civil service in some countries. Collar tabs sign the military rank (group of ranks), the rank of civil service, the military unit, the office (department) or the branch of the armed forces and the arm of service. History Gorget patches were originally gorgets, pieces of armour worn to protect the throat. With the disuse of armour, gorgets were relegated to decorative use. The cloth patch on the collar however evolved from contrasting cloth used to reinforce the buttonholes at the collar of a uniform coat.
