Admir Salihović
Admir Salihović (born 15 November 1989) is a Bosnian Canadian footballer who plays for EDC FC Burnaby in the Vancouver Metro Soccer League. Career He is a talented, young player who can play on the left or right-hand side of midfield, he joins the Whitecaps after signing a one-year professional contract with the club. He holds dual citizen of Bosnia and Canada, he has received an invite to play for the Bosnia & Herzegovina U-21 side, but the midfielder has so far not taken the opportunity to play for the country of his birth. In the summer of 2005, Salihović trained with Bosnian Premijer Liga club FK Željeznicar, which is based in the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo. Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club is a Canadian professional soccer team based in Vancouver. They compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member club of the league's Western Conference. The MLS iteration of the club was established on March 18, 2009, and began play in 2011 as the 17th team to enter Major League Soccer while replacing the USSF Division 2 team of the same name in the city, making them a phoenix club and the third to carry the Whitecaps name. The Austrian Football Second League (german: 2. Liga) is the second-highest professional division in Austrian football. It was formerly called the First League (''Erste Liga''), from 2002 to 2018. Football is the most popular sport in Austria. The Austrian Football Association, the ''ÖFB'' (''Österreichischer Fußball-Bund''), was founded in 1904 and has been a member of FIFA since then. Despite the sport's popularity, except for a successful streak in the early 1930s, the country's national team has not been successful in tournaments. Austria played their first ever European championship as a qualifier in 2016, but finished last in their group and failed to advance.
