Adl-e-Jehangir
''Adl-E-Jehangir'' (The Justice of Jehangir) also referred to as ''Adil-E-Jehangir'', is a 1955 black and white Bollywood Hindi language historical drama film directed by G. P. Sippy. According to Sippy in an interview, it was the first film he directed, and it became a commercial success at the box office. The film had music composed by Husnlal Bhagatram, assisted by Shukla, with lyrics by Qamar Jalalabadi. A popular ghazal from the film was "Ae Meri Zindagi Tujhe Dhundhoon Kahan" sung by Talat Mahmood. The film starred Pradeep Kumar, Meena Kumari, Durga Khote, Sapru and Jankidas. Darpan, a leading Pakistani actor, also performed in the movie. He played the role of Prince Khurram ( Shah Jahan). The story involved a quasi-historical episode from Emperor Jehangir's reign where his sense of justice is brought into question when his wife, the Empress Noor Jehan is implicated by Rami, a washer woman, in the killing of her husband. Darpan (actor)
Syed Ishrat Abbas ( ur, ), (1928 – 8 November 1980) better known by his stage name Darpan ( ur, ), was one of the original romantic heroes of the "golden age" of Pakistan's film industry (also commonly known as Lollywood). Background Syed Ishrat Abbas was born into a middle-class Shia Islam, Shia Muslim family originally from the United Provinces of British India, United Provinces of British Raj, India, where he was born in 1928. His older brother, Syed Musa Raza, Santosh Kumar, was also a film actor. Another brother, S. Sulaiman, is a film director. Career Darpan was introduced in the film ''Amanat'' in 1950 and went on to feature in the Pakistani Punjabi film ''Billo'' in 1951. Meena Kumari
Meena Kumari (born Mahjabeen Bano; 1 August 1933 – 31 March 1972) was an Indian actress and poet, who worked in Hindi films. Popularly known as ''The Tragedy Queen'', she was active between 1939 and 1972. Kumari is widely considered one of the greatest actress of Indian cinema. In a career spanning 33 years, she starred in over 90 films until her premature death in 1972. Meena Kumari won four Filmfare Awards in the Best Actress category. Husnlal Bhagatram
Husn Lal and Bhagat Ram were the first legendary music directors duo in Bollywood. They are two brothers, Husn Lal (8 April 1920 – 28 December 1968) and Bhagat Ram (1914 – 29 November 1973). Husn Lal was also a renowned violinist, vocalist (indian classical music) and music composer, but his prowess as singer is not commonly known. Bhagat Ram was considered an expert harmonium player. Bhagat Ram composed music for a few films in 1930s alone under the name "Bhagat Ram Batish". In 1944 he and Husn Lal joined forces for the first time to compose music for a film under the name Husn Lal - Bhagat Ram. The brothers were popular music composers in the 1940s and early 1950s, but their career waned after 1955. Pradeep Kumar (born Sital Batabyal; 4 January 1925 – 3 November 2001) was an Indian actor who is recognized for his work in Hindi, Bengali and English-language films. Career When Kumar was 17 years old, he decided to take up acting. He started his film career in Bengali films. His notable roles in Bengali films were in ''Alaknanda'' (1947), directed by renowned filmmaker Debaki Bose, and in ''42'' (1951). Pradeep Kumar Batabayal then shifted to Bombay and Filmistan studios, and had an important role in the film '' Anand Math'' (1952).
