Adele Nicoll
Adele Nicoll (born 28 September 1996) is a British shot putter, discus thrower and bobsledder. She has won multiple Welsh Athletics Championships events, and won the shot put event at the 2022 British Athletics Championships. She came second in the 2021–22 Bobsleigh World Cup event in Sigulda, Latvia alongside Mica McNeill. Nicoll was a reserve for the 2022 Winter Olympics, and competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Athletics career Nicoll started competing in athletics for the Birchfield Harriers at the age of 14. She was not selected in the Welsh squads for the 2014 or 2018 Commonwealth Games; she only reached the B standard for the 2018 Games. Nicoll came third in the under-23s shot put event at the 2017 European Throwing Cup. Shot Put
The shot put is a track and field event involving "putting" (throwing) a heavy spherical ball—the ''shot''—as far as possible. The shot put competition for men has been a part of the modern Olympics since their revival in 1896, and women's competition began in 1948. History Homer mentions competitions of rock throwing by soldiers during the Siege of Troy but there is no record of any dead weights being thrown in Greek competitions. The first evidence for stone- or weight-throwing events were in the Scottish Highlands, and date back to approximately the first century. Mica Moore
Mica Moore (born 23 November 1992) is a British women's sprinter and bobsleigher. She competed for Wales in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, and competed in the 2-women bobsleigh event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Athletics career Moore began her sporting career as a sprinter, running for Birchfield Harriers and Cardiff Metropolitan University. Moore was coached by her father Lawrence. In May 2008, Moore won the 100m and 200m events at the under-17 Wales National Championships. Her mother Lolita Moore won the 100m and 200m Masters events at the same event. Having competed at every Games since their 1930 inauguration, it was Wales' twenty-second appearance. Personal Record
A personal record or personal best (abbreviated to PR or PB) is an individual's best performance in a given sporting discipline. It is most commonly found in athletic sports, such as track and field, other forms of running, swimming (sport), swimming and Olympic weightlifting, weightlifting. The term "PR" came from the world of running, referring to a person's best time in a race of a specific distance. So, if someone runs their first 5K run, 5K race in 28:45, that's their PR for the 5-kilometre distance. If they run faster than 28:45 in a subsequent 5K race, then they have a new PR for that distance. Over time, PR came to mean any new record in a sport that could be performed by a single person. 2022 British Indoor Athletics Championships
The 2022 British Indoor Athletics Championships were the national indoor track and field competition for British athletes, held on 26 and 27 February 2022 at Arena Birmingham. The competition served as a qualification event for the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships, and on 1 March, 33 British competitors were announced for that championships, and this was increased to 36 a couple of days later.
