Addisu Legesse
Addisu Legesse is an Ethiopian politician who served as Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia. He was formerly the chairman of the Amhara Democratic Party (ADP), the Amhara region branch of the ruling EPRDF, a position from which he retired in 2010. He was also President of the Amhara region from 1992 until 2000, deputy prime Minister, and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development until 2008. Amhara Democratic Party
The Amhara Democratic Party (ADP) ( am, አማራ ዴሞክራሲያዊ ፓርቲ), originally known as Amhara National Democratic Movement (ANDM), was a political party in Ethiopia. The party was one of four members of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) that ruled Ethiopia at the time. In 2012, the party chairman was Demeke Mekonnen, who replaced Addisu Legesse in 2010. In November 2019, prime minister Abiy Ahmed, holding the role of EPRDF chair, unified the constituent parties of the coalition into a new party called Prosperity Party. Amhara Region
The Amhara Region ( am, አማራ ክልል, Åmara Kilil), officially the Amhara National Regional State (), is a regional state in northern Ethiopia and the homeland of the Amhara people. Its capital is Bahir Dar which is the seat of the Regional Government of Amhara. Amhara is the site of the largest inland body of water in Ethiopia, Lake Tana (which is the source of the Blue Nile), and Semien Mountains National Park (which includes Ras Dashan, the highest point in Ethiopia). Ethiopians are the native inhabitants of Ethiopia, as well as the global diaspora of Ethiopia. Southern Ethiopian People's Democratic Movement
The Southern Ethiopian People's Democratic Movement (SEPDM) was a political party in Ethiopia. At the last legislative elections, 15 May 2005, the party was part of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front, that won 327 out of 527 seats in the Council of People's Representatives. Originally known as the Southern Ethiopia Peoples Democratic Front, the SEPDM was founded in 1992. Muferiat Kamil has been Chair of the SEPDM since 25 June 2018, replacing the previous chairman Shiferaw Shigute. In the August 2005 Regional assembly elections, the party won 271 out of 348 seats in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People's Region (SNNPR).
