Addis Ababa City Cup
The Addis Ababa City Cup (Amharic: አዲስ አበባ ከተማ ዋንጫ) is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic Ethiopian Football. The tournament is organized by the Addis Ababa Football Federation. It is usually contested among the football clubs based in Addis Ababa with the exception of teams who enter the tournament by invitation. History The final match of the 12th edition of the tournament between arch rivals Saint George and Ethiopian Coffee was, for the first time, transmitted live on ENN TV, a local private television network. All the matches of the 13th edition (2018) of the tournament were broadcast on Walta TV. All the matches of the 2019 edition of the tournament were broadcast on Addis TV. CBE SA (a.k.a. Ethiopia Nigd Bank) was an Ethiopian football club, in the city of Addis Abeba. They played in the Ethiopian Premier League, the top level of professional football in Ethiopia. History The club was founded in 1982 (1975 E.C.) by the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia. In 2010, the club was renamed from Banks Sport Club to Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Sports Association. In the 2020/21 season, the club played in the Ethiopian League 1 and advanced to the Ethiopian Higher League. Adama ( Oromo: ' or ', Amharic: አዳማ), formerly Nazreth ( am, ናዝሬት), is a city in the central Oromia Region of Ethiopia. Located in the East Shewa Zone southeast of the capital, Addis Ababa, the city sits between the base of an escarpment to the west, and the Great Rift Valley to the east. Sebeta City ( Oromo: ''Magaalaa sabbataa''; Amharic: ሰበታ ከተማ, Sebeta Ketema) is a professional football club based in Sebeta, Ethiopia. They play in the Ethiopian Premier League, the top division of Ethiopian football. History Sebeta City F.C. was founded in 2005. Walta TV is an Ethiopian television network owned and operated by Walta Media and Communication Corporate S.C. Walta TV is available on three satellites, originally on Eutelsat 7 West A but also on Belintersat 1 and on the Ethiosat platform. History Walta TV was launched on April 7, 2017. As of 2017, it was one of five channels in Ethiopia to be officially licensed by the Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority.
