Adario Strange
Adario Strange is a New York–based writer, film director, and artist. He is best known for his documentary fil''The NYU Suicides''detailing a year of strange deaths at the famed university. In recent years he was Editor-in-Chief of the weekly newspaper ''New York Press'', and a technology writer for ''Wired'', the SyFy channel, and PC Magazine. Strange was born and raised in the East Village in New York City, NY, United States. Many in the entertainment industry also know him for his work as one of the original writers and second Editor-in-Chief of ''The Source'' hip hop magazine. He also became a well-known New York radio personality at New York's Hot 97 WQHT FM, WBAU FM, and WLIB AM, as well as a record producer for Tupac Shakur. ''New York Press'' was a free alternative weekly in New York City, which was published from 1988 to 2011. The ''Press'' strove to create a rivalry with the ''Village Voice''. ''Press'' editors claimed to have tried to hire away writer Nat Hentoff from the ''Voice''. Liz Trotta of ''The Washington Post'' compared the rivalry to a similar sniping between certain publications in the eighteenth-century British press, such as the ''Analytical Review'' and its self-styled nemesis, the '' Anti-Jacobin Review''. The founder, Russ Smith, was a conservative who wrote a long column called "Mugger" in every issue, but did not promote just a right-wing viewpoint in the publication. Web 2.0 (also known as participative (or participatory) web and social web) refers to websites that emphasize user-generated content, ease of use, participatory culture and interoperability (i.e., compatibility with other products, systems, and devices) for end users. Robert "Bobbito" Garcia (born September 25, 1966), also known as DJ Cucumber Slice and Kool Bob Love, is an American DJ, author, streetball player, streetball coach, and member of the Rock Steady Crew.
