Adana Gundogdu Schools is a large private educational establishment situated in Adana Turkey. It educates nearly 3,000 students aged between the ages of 3 and 18. It was founded in 1988 by Yunus Gundogdu a very prominent local businessman who wanted to create a school for his three children. It is a privately owned establishment which has been approved and is subject to MEB regulations. Gundogdu is a day school and attracts students from all local areas including Seyhan, Cukurova and Ceyhan. Adana Province ( tr, ) is a province of Turkey located in central Cilicia. With a population of 2.26 million, it is the sixth most populous province in Turkey. Formerly known as Nippa, it works to promote education and care services for young children. Education in Turkey is governed by a national system which was established in accordance with the Atatürk's Reforms. It is a state-supervised system designed to produce a skillful professional class for the social and economic institutes of the nation. Compulsory education lasts 12 years. Primary and secondary education is financed by the state and free of charge in public schools, between the ages of 6 and 19. Secondary or high school education is not mandatory but required in order to then progress to universities. Turkey has over 200 universities as of 2022. The HighScope Educational Research Foundation (known as HighScope or High/Scope) studies methods of early childhood education based on the methods of the 1962 Perry Preschool study. It was founded in 1970 by psychologist David Weikart.
