Adana Cinema Museum
Adana Cinema Museum ( tr, Adana Sinema Müzesi) is a museum in Adana, Turkey dedicated to the cinema of Turkey, in particular in relation with directors, actors and producers native to the city. Established in 2011 in a renewed old Adana house, the museum is situated on the west side of Seyhan River. The ground floor of the museum is reserved for the movie posters. At least one name in each poster (director, actor, scriptwriter etc.) belongs to a citizen of Adana. In the first floor, there is a room exhibiting the photos, movie posters and belongings of the renowned Turkish actor Yılmaz Güney (1937-1984). There are life-size figures of Yılmaz Güney, painter Abidin Dino and author Orhan Kemal (1914-1970). Adana (; ; ) is a major city in southern Turkey. It is situated on the Seyhan River, inland from the Mediterranean Sea. Ali Özgentürk
Ali Özgentürk (born 4 November 1947) is a Turkish film director, screenwriter, and producer. He was born on 4 November 1947 in Adana, Turkey. After studying philosophy and sociology at Istanbul University, he became involved in theater, as an actor, director, and playwright. He founded Istanbul's first street theater troupe in 1968. Seyhan
Seyhan is a district-municipality in the Adana Province of Turkey, core of the Adana urban area. Seyhan is home to 35 percent of the residents of Adana Province and almost half of the residents of the city of Adana. It is the fifth most populous metropolitan district in Turkey. Menderes Samancılar (born 1 May 1954) is a Turkish actor. Life and career Samancılar was born on 1 May 1954 in Adana and is of Kurdish descent. He won the first prize in a photonovel competition organized by a newspaper in 1974. He starred in more than twenty photonovels within two years. He made his cinematic debut in 1975 with a role in Yılmaz Duru's movie ''İnce Memed Vuruldu''. Until 1998 he appeared in more than 80 movie productions. Muzaffer İzgü
Muzaffer İzgü (; 29 October 1933 – 26 August 2017) was a Turkish writer and teacher. He was known for his children's books and works of humour, and had authored 154 books, 98 of which were for children. Life İzgü was born in Adana on 29 October 1933 to a poor family, and as a child he had to work as a waiter, dishwasher, and beverage vendor at the cinemas while furthering his education. His father, Ahmet İzgü, was born in Damascus and had come to Adana from Elazığ to find employment. He worked at the Adana Girls' High School as a steward, and Muzaffer İzgü has claimed that his father was the builder of the first gecekondu in Adana. His mother, Havva, was from Antakya.
