Guglielmo Barnabò
Guglielmo Barnabò (11 May 1888 – 31 May 1954) was an Italian stage and film actor. He appeared in more than 90 films between 1926 and 1954. Life and career Born in Ancona, Barnabò made his stage debut in 1921 at the Greek Theatre of Syracuse, with the Annibale Ninchi's company. Since then he was enrolled by some of the most important stage companies of his time, working among others with Marta Abba, Alda Borelli, Maria Melato, Gino Cervi, Paolo Stoppa. In 1927 Barnabò made his screen debut in the silent film ''Beauty of the World'', but his film career took off with the sound cinema, when he became one of the most active character actors of the 1930s and the 1940s. Mario Riva (26 January 1913 – 1 September 1960) was an Italian television presenter and actor. He appeared in 51 films between 1941 and 1960. Life and career Born in Rome as Mariuccio Bonavolontà, the son of a composer, Giuseppe (Joseph) Bonavolonta (b.1885) and his wife Teresa Chinzari. His father composed over 500 popular tunes including "Goodbye Nemi" and "Fiocca Snow". Mario attended St Joseph College in Piazza di Spagna in Rome. Riva debuted at young age as a dubber and a radio actor. His film debut was in 1941 in ''Due cuori sotto sequestro'' (''Two Hearts Seized''). He became first known as presenter of the stage show ''Clan'' (1942). Giulio Marchetti (9 June 1911 – 1 December 1993) was an Italian stage, film and television actor and presenter. Life and career Born in Barcelona, Marchetti was the grandson of the operetta actor and comedian Giulio and the son of the theatrical artistic director Adriano. After completing high school in Bologna, he began his stage career as a vaudeville actor and singer in the style of the American minstrel show performers. He got a large popularity between early 1940s and mid-1950s, thanks to a series of successful revues. He was also active, as a character actor, in a number of films and television series, often working alongside Totò. Nunzio Filogamo (20 September 1902 – 24 January 2002) was an Italian television and radio presenter, actor and singer. Life and career Born in Palermo, Filogamo moved to Turin at a young age, then he studied law at the Sorbonne University and at the Turin University, where he graduated. After working for two years as a lawyer, he started a career as a stage actor, entering the companies of Dina Galli and of Irma and Emma Gramatica. In 1934 he debuted as a radio actor in the variety show ''I quattro moschettieri'', which lasted four years and gave him a large popularity. After the outbreak of war, Filogamo was hired to host several variety events for soldiers and wounded people; later, he continued to work as a presenter of the shows reserved for the Allied forces which were held at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome.
