Adam Wood
Adam Kenneth Compton Wood (born 13 March 1955) is a retired British diplomat, and was the Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man from 2011 to 2016. Life and career Wood was educated at the Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe and graduated from Oriel College, Oxford in 1977. Wood's later career consisted of major diplomatic roles in Africa, as the British High Commissioner to Uganda from 2002 to 2005, then High Commissioner to Kenya from 2005 to 2008. Prior to his retirement from the diplomatic service in 2010, he was Africa Director at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, managing Britain's embassies in Africa. Excellency
Excellency is an honorific style given to certain high-level officers of a sovereign state, officials of an international organization, or members of an aristocracy. Once entitled to the title "Excellency", the holder usually retains the right to that courtesy throughout their lifetime, although in some cases the title is attached to a particular office, and is held only for the duration of that office. Generally people addressed as ''Excellency'' are heads of state, heads of government, governors, ambassadors, Roman Catholic bishops and high-ranking ecclesiastics and others holding equivalent rank (e.g., heads of international organizations). Jean Francois Gordon (born 16 April 1953) was the British Ambassador to Algeria from 1996 to 1999, Ambassador to the Ivory Coast from 2001 to 2004 and High Commissioner to Uganda from 2005 to 2008. Robert Nigel Paul Macaire Order of St Michael and St George, CMG (born 19 February 1966) is a British diplomat who served as List of diplomats of the United Kingdom to Iran, UK's Ambassador to Iran from 2018 to 2021.
