Adam Wingard
Adam Wingard ( ; born December 3, 1982) is an American filmmaker. He has served as a director, producer, screenwriter, editor, cinematographer, actor, and composer on numerous projects. Following an early career as a member of the mumblecore movement, he became notable for his works in the horror and action genres, especially the films ''You're Next'' (2011), and '' The Guest'' (2014), and the bigger budget franchise films ''Blair Witch'' (2016), '' Death Note'' (2017), and '' Godzilla vs. Kong'' (2021). Life and career Wingard was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and graduated from Full Sail University in 2002. His first feature, the horror comedy ''Home Sick'', starring Bill Moseley and Tiffany Shepis, proved to be a stepping stone to his second feature, the psychotropic ghost story horror film ''Pop Skull''. San Diego Comic-Con International is a comic book convention and nonprofit multi-genre entertainment event held annually in San Diego, California since 1970. The name, as given on its website, is Comic-Con International: San Diego; but it is commonly known simply as Comic-Con or the San Diego Comic-Con or SDCC. A Horrible Way To Die
''A Horrible Way to Die'' is a 2010 American horror film directed and edited by Adam Wingard, written by co-producer Simon Barrett, and starring A. J. Bowen, Amy Seimetz, Joe Swanberg, Brandon Carroll, and Lane Hughes. The story follows an escaped serial killer as he chases down his recovering alcoholic ex-girlfriend who is responsible for his incarceration. Takeshi Obata
is a Japanese manga artist that usually works as the illustrator in collaboration with a writer. He first gained international attention for ''Hikaru no Go'' (1998–2003) with Yumi Hotta, but is better known for '' Death Note'' (2003–2006) and ''Bakuman'' (2008–2012) with Tsugumi Ohba. Obata has mentored several well-known manga artists, including Nobuhiro Watsuki of ''Rurouni Kenshin'' fame, '' Black Cat'' creator Kentaro Yabuki, and ''Eyeshield 21'' artist Yusuke Murata. Tsugumi Ohba
is the pen name of a Japanese manga writer, best known for authoring the ''Death Note'' manga series with illustrator Takeshi Obata from 2003 to 2006, which has 30 million collected volumes in circulation. The duo's second series, ''Bakuman.'' (2008–2012), was also successful with 15 million in circulation. In 2014, Ohba collaborated with ''My Little Monster'' creator Robico for the One-shot (comics), one-shot "Skip! Yamada-kun". ''The Blair Witch Project'' is a 1999 American supernatural horror film written, directed and edited by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez (director), Eduardo Sánchez. It is a fictional story of three student filmmakers—Heather Donahue, Michael C. Williams, and Joshua Leonard—who hike into the Black Hills near Burkittsville, Maryland, in 1994 to film a documentary about a local myth known as the Blair Witch. Simon Barrett (filmmaker)
Simon Barrett (born 1978) is an American actor, producer, and screenwriter known for his collaborations with Adam Wingard, including ''A Horrible Way to Die'', ''V/H/S'', ''V/H/S/2'', ''You're Next'', and '' The Guest''. He is associated with the mumblecore movement and has worked with director Joe Swanberg several times. Personal life Barrett was born in Columbia, Missouri, in 1978. Career Barrett has performed a number of roles in his films. He attributes this to the low budgets of his early films, in which he and frequent collaborator Adam Wingard were forced to act, as they could not afford to hire anyone else.
