Adam Schantz
Adam Schantz (October 9, 1819November 5, 1879) was an American immigrant, farmer, and Democratic politician. He served six years in the Wisconsin State Senate and two years in the State Assembly, representing Washington County. Biography Schantz was born on October 9, 1819, in the Kingdom of Bavaria. He moved with his family to the United States in 1828, settling in Oneida County, New York. After living for a time in Oswego County, New York, the family moved to Washington County, Wisconsin, in 1846. Schantz later lived in Addison, Wisconsin, and Oak Grove, Dodge County, Wisconsin. In 1848, he married Catharine Schwartz, who was also a native of Bavaria. They had four children. He moved to Schleisingerville, Wisconsin, (now Slinger) in 1874. Schantz died in 1879. Career Schantz was elected Justice of the Peace in what is now Hartford, Wisconsin, in 1846 and Register of Deeds of Washington County in 1852. Wisconsin's 33rd State Senate District
The 33rd Senate district of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, the district comprises most of central Waukesha County. It includes the cities of Waukesha and Delafield. Current elected officials Chris Kapenga is the senator representing the 33rd district. He was first elected to the Senate in a 2015 special election. Before becoming a state senator, he was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly from 2011 through 2015. Each Wisconsin State Senate district is composed of three State Assembly districts. Oak Grove (originally called Fairfield) is a town in Dodge County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,126 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Minnesota Junction is located in the town. The unincorporated community of Rolling Prairie is also located partially in the town. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 34.2 square miles (88.6 km2), of which, 34.1 square miles (88.3 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km2) of it (0.32%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 1,126 people, 428 households, and 335 families living in the town. The population density was 33.0 people per square mile (12.8/km2). The Democratic Party of Wisconsin is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is currently headed by chair Ben Wikler. Important issues for the state party include support for workers and unions, strong public education, and environmental protection.
