Adam Mitchell (ice Hockey)
Adam Mitchell (born December 1, 1982) is a Canadian-German professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing for Löwen Frankfurt in the DEL2. Born in Port Elgin, Ontario, he was granted German citizenship in September 2014. Playing career Mitchell played collegiately at Colgate University, serving as team captain as a senior. Upon graduation in 2005, he turned pro and started his overseas career in Germany. After spending two and a half years with minor league team EV Landsberg, he was picked up by the Hannover Scorpions of the German top-flight Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) in December 2007. He won the German championship with the Scorpions in 2010. Prior to the 2011-12 campaign, he joined fellow DEL team Adler Mannheim on a two-year deal. Port Elgin, Ontario
Port Elgin is a community in Bruce County, Ontario, Canada. Its location is in the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation. Originally named Normanton the town was renamed Port Elgin when it was incorporated in 1874, after James Bruce, 8th Earl of Elgin, a former Governor General of the Province of Canada. Although road signs indicate the name Port Elgin, it is no longer an entity, per se. In 1998, the Town of Southampton, the Town of Port Elgin and Saugeen Township were amalgamated to form the Town of Port Elgin-Saugeen-Southampton. The Colgate Raiders men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Colgate University. The Raiders are a member of ECAC Hockey. They used to play at Starr Rink from its inauguration in 1959 until the 2015–16 season. EV Landsberg
EV Landsberg was the name of two ice hockey clubs in Landsberg, Bavaria, Germany. The first club was outsourced from the soccer club TSV 1880 Landsberg in 1957 and played until 1999–2000. The senior team played in the German 2nd Division for more than 30 years. In 1966 they came close to winning promotion to the top division, only losing out in a decisive playoff match against Berliner SC. Notable players were former USA Hockey executive Jim Johannson, and former Russian national team head coach Oleg Znarok. The second club with the original name EV Landsbeg 2000 was founded in 2000 when the first EV Landsberg collapsed. The club was renamed EV Landsberg in 2010 and collapsed in 2011.
