Adriaan Dirk Neeleman (born 7 November 1964, Rotterdam) is a Dutch linguist based in the UK. He is Professor of Linguistics at University College London. He completed his PhD at the University of Utrecht in 1994. His research focusses on syntax, semantics and phonology, and particularly on the interfaces between them. Adrianus Petrus Wilhelmus "Ad" Melkert (; born 12 February 1956) is a Dutch politician and diplomat of the Labour Party (PvdA) who has served as a Member of the Council of State since 20 January 2016. Adrianus Herman (Ad) van Luyn, SDB, (born 10 August 1935) is a Dutch prelate of the Catholic Church. He was the Bishop of Rotterdam from 1994 to 2011 and President of the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Community from 2006 to 2011. Early life and ordination Van Luyn was born in Groningen and attended the seminary of the Salesians in Ugchelen. He made his religious vows in 1954. He studied theology at the Salesian Pontifical University in Turin. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1964 by Giuseppe Beltrami, apostolic nuncio to the Netherlands. Adolph James Liska (July 10, 1906 – November 30, 1998) was an American baseball pitcher who played five years in Major League Baseball and 14 for the Portland Beavers of the Pacific Coast League. Early life and career Born in Nebraska, Liska taught elementary school and pitched briefly for the University of Nebraska before joining the minor league Lincoln Links of the Western League in 1926. Adrianus Franciscus Johannes Marinus Maria "Ad" Konings (born 11 January 1956 in Roosendaal, Netherlands) is an ichthyologist originally trained in medicine and biology. Konings is best known for his research on African rift lake cichlids. After studies in Amsterdam, he has spent most of his life in Rotterdam. Early life Konings started keeping cichlids when he was 14 years old in 1970.
