Achille Brice
Achille Brice (born Assoua Achille Brice Eteki in 1984) is a Cameroonian filmmaker, producer and movie director. His work in '' Life Point'' was recognized among the 20 of 1,000 movies submitted to contest at l'Étalon d'or de Yennenga at the Pan African Film Festival in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. In 2011, he received three nominations as best filmmaker in Cameroon at the Zulu African Film Academy Awards for '' Obsession'', the first Cameroonian English language film to be nominated in the Ecrans Noirs Film Festival for Ecrans D'Afrique Central, Prix Charles Mensa at the CRANS Noir Film Festival. Buea
Buea is the capital of the Southwest Region of Cameroon. The city is located in Fako Division, on the eastern slopes of Mount Cameroon, and has a population of 300,000 (at the 2013 Census). It has two Government Hotels, the Mountain Hotel and Parliamentarian Flats Hotel located around The Government Residential Area. The self-declared state of Ambazonia claims the city as its capital. History Buea, originally "bue", was founded by a hunter who came from the Bomboko area. The cinema of Cameroon includes French and English-language filmmaking. The Anglophone film industry is sometimes known as Collywood. History In 1919, the movie ''Haut-Commissariat de la République française au Cameroun'' was shot in the French Cameroons. In 1960, Cameroon became an independent country, and the history of Cameroonian cinema started in 1962. Thérèse Sita Bella and Jean Pierre Dikonguè Pipa were the first Cameroonian movie producers. Durban International Film Festival
The Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) is an annual film festival that takes place in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa. Founded in 1979 by Teddy Sarkin and Ros Sarkin, it is the oldest and largest film festival in Africa and presents over 200 screenings celebrating the best in South African, African and international cinema. Most of the screenings are either African or South African premieres. The festival also offers filmmaker workshops, industry seminars, discussion forums, and outreach activities that include screenings in township areas where cinemas are non-existent, and much more including Talent Campus Durban and a Durban FilmMart co-production market. The Southwest Region or South-West Region () is a region in Cameroon. Its capital is Buea. , its population was 1,553,320. Along with the Northwest Region, it is one of the two Anglophone (English-speaking) regions of Cameroon. Various Ambazonian nationalist and separatist factions regard the ''Sud-Ouest'' region as being distinct as a polity from Cameroon.
