Accomplice (1946 Film)
''Accomplice'' is a 1946 black-and-white thriller film directed by Walter Colmes and starring Richard Arlen, Veda Ann Borg, Tom Dugan, and Archie Twitchell. The film, from Producers Releasing Corporation (PRC), was shot in four days. The film is written by Frank Gruber, based on his novel ''Simon Lash, Private Detective''. Plot Blonde bombshell Joyce Bonniwell hires her ex-fiancé and Los Angeles attorney, Simon Lash. Her amnesiatic and wealthy husband Sam Bonniwell has gone missing. Sam is the vice president of the Sheridan National Bank in Los Angeles. Simon searches out what is going on at the bank. Walter Colmes (1917–1988) was an American film director and producer sometimes billed as Walter S. Colmes. Lene Hall (born Sherrylene Hall) is a Barbadian model. She modeled throughout her high school career, but it was only when an agent approached Hall at her work place in Barbados and encouraged her to come to New York City that she would have her chance on the international fashion stage. Film noir (; ) is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize cynical attitudes and motivations. The 1940s and 1950s are generally regarded as the "classic period" of American ''film noir''. Film noir of this era is associated with a low-key, black-and-white visual style that has roots in German Expressionist cinematography. Robert McKenzie (September 22, 1880 – July 8, 1949) was an Irish-born American film actor. He appeared in more than 310 films between 1915 and 1946.
