Abu Jayed Chowdhury Rahi ( bn, আবু জায়েদ চৌধুরী রাহী; born 2 August 1993) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who plays for Sylhet Division. His ability to swing the ball is regarded as the best in Bangladesh. He made his international debut for the Bangladesh cricket team in February 2018. In April 2019, he was named in Bangladesh's One Day International (ODI) squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup, despite being uncapped in an ODI match. He made his ODI debut for Bangladesh the following month, against the West Indies. Domestic career He was the leading wicket-taker in the 2016–17 National Cricket League tournament, with 29 dismissals. In October 2018, he was named in the squad for the Chittagong Vikings team, following the draft for the 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League. Sri Lankan Cricket Team In Bangladesh In 2017–18
The Sri Lanka cricket team toured Bangladesh in January and February 2018 to play two Tests and two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. Prior to the tour, both teams played in a tri-series, along with Zimbabwe. In December 2017, Shakib Al Hasan was named as the new captain of Bangladesh's Test squad, replacing Mushfiqur Rahim. However, ahead of the Test series, Shakib suffered a hand injury during the final of the 2017–18 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series, with Mahmudullah named as captain of Bangladesh for the first Test. It was Mahmudullah's first Test as captain and he became the tenth player to lead Bangladesh in Tests. The 2019 Ireland Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament that was held from 5 to 17 May in Ireland. It was a tri-nation series featuring Bangladesh, Ireland and the West Indies, with all the matches played as One Day Internationals (ODIs). The 2018 Asia Cup (also known as Unimoni Asia Cup for sponsorship reasons) was a One-Day International (ODI) cricket tournament that was held in the United Arab Emirates in September 2018. It was the 14th edition of the Asia Cup and the third time the tournament was played in the United Arab Emirates, after the 1984 and 1995 tournaments.
