''Abraçaço'' () is an album by Brazilian singer, songwriter, and guitarist Caetano Veloso, released in 2012 on Universal Records. In November 2013, the album won the Latin Grammy of Best Singer-Songwriter Album. The song "Um Abraçaço" was also nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Latin Grammy Award for Best Brazilian Song. In the following year, a live version of the song "A Bossa Nova é Foda" was nominated for 2014 Latin Grammy's song of the Year and Best Brazilian Song. The album was elected the best 2012 Brazilian album by ''Rolling Stone Brasil'' and "A Bossa Nova é Foda" was considered by the same magazine as the third best Brazilian song of the same year. Latin Grammy Awards Of 2013
The 14th Annual Latin Grammy Awards was held on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. This was the sixth time that Latin Grammys has been held at this location. The main telecast was broadcast on Univision at 8:00 PM EST. The nominations were announced on September 25, 2013. Javier Garza, Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas and Carlos Vives led the nominations with five nods each. Miguel Bosé was honored as the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year on November 20, the day prior to the Latin Grammy Awards. Carlos Vives was the biggest winner with three awards, including Song of the Year for "Volví a Nacer"; Marc Anthony won Record of the Year for "Vivir Mi Vida"; Draco Rosa won the award for Album of the Year for '' Vida''; and Gaby Moreno was awarded Best New Artist. Caetano Veloso
Caetano Emanuel Viana Teles Veloso (; born 7 August 1942) is a Brazilian composer, singer, guitarist, writer, and political activist. Veloso first became known for his participation in the Brazilian musical movement Tropicalismo, which encompassed theatre, poetry and music in the 1960s, at the beginning of the Brazilian military dictatorship that took power in 1964. He has remained a constant creative influence and best-selling performing artist and composer ever since. Veloso has won nine Latin Grammy Awards and two Grammy Awards. On November 14, 2012, Veloso was honored as the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year. The Latin Grammy Award for Record of the Year is an honor presented annually at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and creates a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. The award is given to the performers, producers, audio engineers and mastering engineer for new songs in Spanish or Portuguese language. The songs included on an album released the previous year of submission are also eligible only if they have not been submitted to competition before. Instrumental songs are also eligible. The Latin Grammy Award for Best Portuguese Language Song is an honor presented annually at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and creates a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. According to the category description guide for the 13th Latin Grammy Awards, the award is for "a song must contain at least 51% of the lyrics in Portuguese and must be a new song. Award to the Songwriter(s). Not Eligible: Instrumental recordings and cover songs." The award was first presented to Djavan for "Acelerou" in 2000. ''Zii e Zie'' is an album by Music of Brazil, Brazilian singer, songwriter, and guitarist Caetano Veloso, released on 14 April 2009 on Universal Records.
