Hans Abrahamsen (born 23 December 1952) is a Danish composer born in Kongens Lyngby near Copenhagen. His '' Let me tell you'' (2013), a song cycle for soprano and orchestra, was ranked by music critics at ''The Guardian'' as the finest work of the 21st-century. His opera ''The Snow Queen'' was commissioned and premiered by the Royal Danish Theatre in 2019. Biography Early life His interest in composition and piano began after hearing his father playing piano. His first attempts at "little melodies" were designed to be played with the only two fingers on his right hand that were capable of playing the instrument. After realizing that he would not be able to progress, he shifted his focus to the French horn. From 1969 to 1971, he studied horn, music theory, and music history at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. David Abrahamsen
David Abrahamsen (June 23, 1903 – May 20, 2002) was a Norwegian forensic psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, and author who wrote analyses of Richard M. Nixon and David Berkowitz. He was the father of Inger McCabe Elliott. Early life and education Abrahamsen was born in Trondheim, Norway in 1903. He studied medical science at the Royal Frederick University in Oslo and graduated in 1929. He eventually relocated to England, taking positions at the Tavistock Clinic and the London School of Economics. He moved to the United States in 1940 and joined the staff at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, D.C. Aase Foss Abrahamsen (née Dommerud; born 27 August 1930) is a Norwegian children's writer. Early and personal life She was born in Drammen to editor Ole Aasten Dommerud and nurse Jenny Bakken. When she was eight, she moved with her family to Kristiansand. Her mother died when she was twelve. She married physician Arne Tellef Foss Abrahamsen in 1953, and they eventually had five children. She graduated as cand.philol. in history from the University of Oslo in 1956. Career Foss Abrahamsen made her literary debut in 1971 with the children's book ''Håkon slalåmkjører''. Her 1978 book ''Ikke deg denne gang '' was awarded a prize from the Ministry of Culture. The book handles the love between Lene and Leif, who has contracted cancer and eventually dies. Bernhard Abrahamsen (21 December 1878 – 21 May 1945) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Lierstranden; he was a son of municipal worker Martinius Abrahamsen (1853–1938) and Pauline Bernsen (1848–1916). He worked four and a half year at a paper factory, but spent most of his career as a carpenter.
