Deed Of Grant In Trust
A Deed of Grant in Trust (DOGIT) is the name for a system of community-level land trust established in Queensland to administer former Aboriginal reserves and missions. They came about through the enactment by the Queensland Government of the ''Community Services (Torres Strait) Act 1984'' and ''Community Services (Aborigines) Act 1984'' in 1984, allowing community councils to be created to own and administer former Aboriginal reserves or missions under a Deed of Grant in Trust). The trusts are governed by local representatives who are elected every three years to councils called Incorporated Aboriginal Councils. Vincent Mark Hilton Mundraby (29 January 1967 – 17 June 2017) was a Far North Queensland Aboriginal Australian Yidinji rights activist. Descent Born Vincent Mark Hilton Mundraby in Atherton, Queensland on 1 January 1967, his father was Vincent Basil Mundraby (born in Yarrabah, 8 April 1941) and his mother was Violet Ruth Mundraby (born at Reeves Creek, Yarrabah, 14 June 1943) a direct descendant via his father, Vincent Mundraby (snr) and grandfather Fred Mundraby, of Jabulum Mandingalpai (aka Jimmy Jabulam). There are two library services operating in Australia that have adopted the appellation "Knowledge Centre" in relation to the delivery of library services for Indigenous clients. The Northern Territory Library first developed the Indigenous Knowledge Centre model of service and later changed this to "Library and Knowledge Centre". Cape Grafton
Cape Grafton is a cape located to the north-east of Cairns in Queensland, Australia. The cape was named by Lieutenant James Cook during his first voyage of discovery in 1770. It was named after Augustus FitzRoy, 3rd Duke of Grafton, the British prime minister when Cook sailed. Cook set anchor two miles from the shore and briefly inspected the cape with botanists Joseph Banks and Daniel Solander. The Aboriginal community of Yarrabah is located here.
