Abolhassan Etessami
Abolhassan Etessami (1903–1978), was an Iranian architect, calligrapher, painter, and novelist. Biography His father Mīrzā Ebrāhīm Khan Mostawfī Eʿteṣām-al-Molk (or Ebrahim Etessami) was from Ashtian and the head of finance of the Iranian province of Azerbaijan. His brother Yussef Etessami was the founder of the ''Bahar'' journal, and the father of the poet Parvin Etessami. Abolhassan Etessami was educated in Tehran at the Aghdasieh School, the American School, and the Kamal-ol-molk School of Fine Arts. Then he spent some years in Isfahan to learn architecture and decoration techniques, and later went to work at Tehran University. Etessami produced a series of architecture projects, detailed maquettes of which were made by himself. Yussef Etessami
Yussef E'tesami (also known as, E'tesam-al-Molk, Mirza Yusuf E'tesami Ashtiani; 1874–1938), was an Iranian journalist, politician, publisher, translator, and writer. He was a member of the second Majles (from 1909 to 1912). His daughter was poet Parvin E'tesami. Biography Yussef E'tesami was born in 1874. His father, Mīrzā Ebrāhīm Khan Mostawfī Eʿteṣām-al-Molk was from Ashtian and the head of finance of the Iranian province of Azerbaijan. He was the elder brother of the architect and painter Abolhassan E'tesami, and the father of the poet Parvin E'tesami. In the 1890s, Yussef E'tesami established the first typographical printing house in Tabriz. He was a member of the Iranian Parliament or Majles in 1909–12, and founded the ''Bahar'' journal in 1910. At various junctures, he served in the Ministry of Education and headed the Royal and Majles Libraries. Expo 58
Expo 58, also known as the 1958 Brussels World's Fair (french: Exposition Universelle et Internationale de Bruxelles de 1958, nl, Brusselse Wereldtentoonstelling van 1958), was a world's fair held on the Heysel/Heizel Plateau in Brussels, Belgium, from 17 April to 19 October 1958. It was the first major world's fair registered under the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) after World War II. Background Expo 58 was the eleventh world's fair hosted by Belgium, and the fifth in Brussels, following the fairs in 1888, 1897, 1910 and 1935. In 1953, Belgium won the bid for the next world's fair, winning out over other European capitals such as Paris and London. Traditionally, Iranian architects were known as ''Mi'mars''. The Persian dictionary of ''Mo'in'' defines Mi'mar as: #That who devises the design and plan of a building, and overlooks its construction. #A Banna #That who is responsible for the building, developing, and repairs of a structure or edifice (Emārat). Classical words ''Banna'', ''Mohandes'', ''Ostad'', and ''Amal'' which appear in classical manuals and references of Islamic architecture. Although many scholars do not recognize the Mimar and the Architect to historically be the same, they do agree that their responsibilities overlap extensively. In this list, they are taken to be the same. The list is in chronological order and selectively spans the Islamic age based on available records. Ali Akbar Dehkhoda
Allameh Ali Akbar Dehkhodā ( fa, علیاکبر دهخدا; 1879–March 9, 1956) was a prominent Iranian linguist and lexicographer. He was the author of the Dehkhoda Dictionary, the most extensive dictionary of the Persian language published to date. Biography Dehkhoda was born in Tehran to parents from Qazvin. His father, Khan Baba Khan Ghazvini, died when he was only 9 years old. Dehkhoda excelled quickly in Persian literature, Arabic and French. He enrolled at the School of Political Science, which employed, amongst other figures, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and his Secretary as lecturers. He was also active in politics, and served in the Majles as a Member of Parliament from Kerman and Tehran. He also served as Dean of Tehran School of Political Science and later the School of Law of the University of Tehran. Niavaran
Niavaran ( fa, نياوران) is an affluent and upperclass district in the north of Tehran. Bordering leafy, uphill-winding Darband Street, it can be reached from Tajrish Square, and is close to Darabad at the far north-eastern corner of Greater Tehran. Culture The aqueduct of flumes was the base for Niavaran district nearly hundreds years ago, this led to the extensive flourishment of this land and consequently superb condition of living.
