Abida Sultana
Abida Sultana is a Bangladeshi adhunik singer. Early life and career Sultana was born to Abdus Salam and Muslima Begum. She completed her bachelor's in political science. She got her musical breakthrough in 1974. She performed as a playback singer for the films Abar Tora Manush Ho (1973), ''Alo Tumi Aleya'' and ''Yea Kore Biye''. She was one of the playback singers of the film Simana Periye (1977), composed by Bhupen Hazarika. Sultana can render songs in 32 languages. Sultana was awarded by Bangladesh Performing Media Centre (BPMC) in 2008. Personal life Sultana is married to the musician Rafiqul Alam since 14 April 1980. Their one son, Farshid Alam, is the main vocalist of the band ''Bohemian''. Shawkat Ali Emon (born 1968–69) is a Bangladeshi music composer. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director for the film Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini (2013). he also won Babisas Awards for Best Music Director in film ''Black Money'' (2015). He also served as one of the judges of the television show ''Black Horse RTV Golden Key – Ebar Tomra Gao''. In the 1990s, he was a member of the musical bands ''Chime'' and ''Pentagon''. He has composed music for 116 films. Background Emon was born in Dhaka in the then East Pakistan. His father, Abdus Salam, was a writer from Manikganj District. Rafiqul Alam (singer)
Rafiqul Alam is a Bangladeshi musician. He was an artist of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra in 1971. He is also a playback singer. As of 2013, he had recorded over 300 playback songs for films. Alam received the Bangladesh National Film Award two times and the Cine Journalists' Association Award. Early life and career Alam's grew up in Rajshahi. His elder brother Sarwar Jahan was a locally renowned singer. He was trained under Pandit Haripada Das, Abdul Jabbar and Ustad Sagiruddin Khan of Kolkata. Bhupen Hazarika () (8 September 1926 – 5 November 2011) was an Indian playback singer, lyricist, musician, poet, actor, filmmaker and politician from Assam, widely known as ''Sudha Kontho'' (meaning cuckoo, literally "nectar-throated"). His songs were written and sung mainly in the Assamese language by himself, are marked by humanity and universal brotherhood and have been translated and sung in many languages, most notably in Bengali and Hindi.
