Abi Foq Al-Shagara
''Abi foq al-Shagara'' (My Father Up on the Tree), is a 1969 Cinema of Egypt, Egyptian drama musical romantic film directed by Hussein Kamal and produced by Abdel Halim Hafez for Sawt al-Fann. The film stars Abdel Halim Hafez and Nadia Lutfi in lead roles where as Mervat Amin, Jenita Furneau, Samir Sabri and Salah Nazmi made supportive roles. The film has been shot in and around Alexandria, Egypt. The film became a blockbuster of that year particularly due to many kissing scenes. The film is considered one of the best films ever made in Egypt. It was the final film appearance by lead actor Abdel Halim Hafez before his death on March 30, 1977 due to liver failure as a complication from ''Schistosoma mansoni''. Hussein Kamal
Hussein Kamal () (17 August 1932 – 24 March 2003) was an Egyptian television, film and theatre director. He is considered to be an important director of traditional Egyptian cinema. One of his most famous films is ''Chitchat on the Nile'' (1971), a critique of the decadence of Egyptian society during the Nasser era. His 1972 film '' Empire M'' was entered into the 8th Moscow International Film Festival in 1973. Abdel Halim Hafez
Abdel Halim Ali Shabana ( ar, عبد الحليم علي شبانة), commonly known as Abdel Halim Hafez ( ar, عبد الحليم حافظ,) (June 21, 1929 – March 30, 1977), was an Egyptian singer, actor, conductor, businessman, music teacher and film producer. He is considered to be one of the greatest Egyptian musicians along with Umm Kulthum, Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Mohamed Fawzi, and Shadia. As his popularity grew, he was given the nickname 'el-Andaleeb el-Asmar ( ar, العندليب الأسمر), meaning ''The Dark-Skinned Nightingale''. To date, he has sold over 80 million records. Ihsan Abdel Quddous ( arz, إحسان عبد القدوس ', ) (1 January 1919 – 12 January 1990) was an Egyptian writer, novelist, and journalist and editor in Egypt's '' Al Akhbar'' and ''Al-Ahram'' newspapers. He wrote many novels that were adapted into films, and served as editor for many years of the literary journal ''Ruz al-Yusuf''. Mervat Mostafa Amin ( ar, ميرفت مصطفى أمين; born November 24, 1948) is an Egyptian actress. Early life She was born in El Minya to Mohammed Mostafa Amin, a doctor from Upper Egypt, and a Scottish mother, the headmaster of Victoria College elementary school. She was raised in Heliopolis and has a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Ain Shams University.
