Abi Ekoku
Abagi 'Abi' Bienose Ekoku (born 13 April 1966) is a former track and field athlete in both discus and shot put, as well as a former professional rugby league footballer. Sporting career Athletics Ekoku represented Great Britain at the European Athletics Championships and was AAA’s National Champion in the Discus held in Sheffield in 1992 and UK Champion in the early 1990s. He represented England in the discus and shot put event, at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland, New Zealand. Rugby league Ekoku spent six years as a professional rugby league footballer as a . He started his rugby league career with the London Crusaders, playing on a part-time basis whilst also lecturing in further education. London Broncos
The London Broncos are a professional rugby league club in London, England. The club competes in the RFL Championship. It was a member of Super League from its inaugural season in 1996 until the end of the 2014 season, when they were relegated to the Championship. They returned to the Super League after achieving promotion by winning the Million Pound Game against the Toronto Wolfpack in 2018, but were relegated back to the Championship at the end of the 2019 Super League season after finishing 12th. The club was originally formed in 1980 as Fulham Rugby League Club and entered the Second Division for the 1980–81 season. The 1997 Challenge Cup, known as the Silk Cut Challenge Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 96th staging of the Challenge Cup, a European rugby league cup competition. Efangwu Goziem Ekoku (born 8 June 1967) is a former Nigerian professional footballer, and sports commentator. As a player, he was a striker who notably played in the Premier League for Norwich City and Wimbledon and in Switzerland for Grasshoppers. He also played in the Football League for AFC Bournemouth and Sheffield Wednesday, as well as in the League of Ireland with Dublin City and in non-league with Sutton United. The Great Britain national rugby league team represents Great Britain in rugby league. Administered by the Rugby Football League (RFL), the team is nicknamed The Lions. World Club Challenge
The World Club Challenge is an annual rugby league competition between the winners of the Australasian National Rugby League (NRL) and the European Super League, for the de facto club world championship of the sport. The first such match was played in 1976 but did not become a regular fixture until the late 1980s. It was also punctuated in the 1990s by the Super League war but has been held every year since 2000.
