Abernathy is an unincorporated community in Cleburne County, Alabama, Cleburne County, Alabama, United States Demographics Abernathy Precinct (1880-1950) Abernathy village has never reported a population figure separately on the U.S. Census as an unincorporated community. However, the 8th beat/precinct of Cleburne County bore its name from 1880 to 1950. In the 1930 and 1940 returns, when the census recorded racial statistics for the precincts, both times reported a White majority for the precinct. In 1960, the precincts were merged and/or reorganized into census divisions (as part of a general reorganization of counties) and it was consolidated into the census division of Ranburne, Alabama, Ranburne.Census data

The Hale County portion of Abernathy is part of the Plainview micropolitan statistical area, while the Lubbock County portion is part of the Lubbock metropolitan area. Abernathy Field is a public use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) southwest of the central business district of Pulaski, a city in Giles County, Tennessee, United States. It is owned by the City of Pulaski and Giles County. According to the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2009–2013, it is categorized as a ''general aviation'' facility. Although many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this facility is assigned GZS by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA. Abernathy Municipal Airport is a public use airport in Hale County, Texas, United States. It is owned by the City of Abernathy and located four nautical miles (5  mi, 7  km) east of its central business district. History The Abernathy Municipal Airport was built during World War II and opened in November 1943 as Abernathy Auxiliary Field by the United States Army Air Forces as an auxiliary field for nearby Lubbock Army Air Field and South Plains Army Air Field. The field was initially built for use by Lubbock Army Air Field, but following the activation of South Plains Army Air Field, was assigned to that base. Abernathy Field Station
Abernathy Field Station is a outdoor ecology classroom serving Washington & Jefferson College (W&J College). The facility, located southeast from the campus in Washington, Pennsylvania, is home to several different ecosystems, including mixed deciduous forest, conifers, several springseeps, two perennial streams, wetlands, and a mowed field. These ecosystems support a diverse slate of wildlife, including birds, salamanders, fish, small mammals, white-tailed deer, various insects, and over 100 trees. The facility is equipped with a NexSens-brand real-time weather station and stream monitoring system to provide background data for research. The Abernathy Field Station is operated by W&J College, allowing faculty and students to study the structure and function of the ecosystems and wildlife in it through coursework and independent research projects.
