Aberdeen City (band)
Aberdeen City was a Boston-based indie/alternative rock band. The members of the band were: Ryan Heller (guitar), Chris McLaughlin (guitar and vocals), Rob McCaffrey (drums), and Brad Parker (bass and vocals). They formed at Boston College, though McCaffrey, Heller and Parker all grew up in the same Chicago neighborhood. Their album, '' The Freezing Atlantic'' (Dovecote/Red Ink), was voted the number one new album by the WFNX Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll 2006. The album also won Local Album of the Year at the 2006 Boston Music Awards, pairing with the bands win for Best Local Rock Act. The band's first single, "God is Going To Get Sick of Me" took home the "Local Song of the Year" award the previous year before the album had been nationally released. Brighton is a former town and current neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, United States, located in the northwestern corner of the city. It is named after the English city of Brighton. Morrissey
Steven Patrick Morrissey (; born 22 May 1959), known professionally as Morrissey, is an English singer and songwriter. He came to prominence as the frontman and lyricist of rock band the Smiths, who were active from 1982 to 1987. Since then, he has pursued a successful solo career. The Dresden Dolls
The Dresden Dolls are an American musical duo from Boston, Massachusetts. Formed in 2000, the group consists of Amanda Palmer (lead vocals and piano; additional: keyboards, harmonica, ukulele) and Brian Viglione (drums and backing vocals; additional: guitar, bass guitar). The two describe their style as "Brechtian punk cabaret", a phrase invented by Palmer because she was "terrified" that the press would invent a name that "would involve the word ''gothic''". Amanda MacKinnon Gaiman Palmer (born April 30, 1976) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and performance artist who is the lead vocalist, pianist, and lyricist of the duo The Dresden Dolls. The Hold Steady is an American rock band originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, now based in Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2003. Elefant was an indie rock band from New York City that released two albums in the 2000s. Background Born in Detroit to Argentine parents in the late 1970s, Diego Garcia immersed himself in the sounds of Iggy Pop and MC5 at an early age. Music carried him throughout his tenure until his cardiologist father moved the family back to Tampa, Florida when Garcia was a young teenager, and by age 14 he got himself an acoustic guitar and started writing songs. We Are Scientists is a New York City-based rock band that formed in Berkeley, California, in 1999. Rasputina (band)
Rasputina is an American rock band based in New York City, known for their unconventional music style, as well as their fascination with historical allegories and fashion, especially those pertaining to the Victorian era. The group is fronted by cellist/vocalist Melora Creager, who writes the music and lyrics and creates art for the band's albums, singles, and website. History In 1989, Creager wrote a manifesto, and placed an ad in The Village Voice seeking women to form an electric cello choir. The Go! Team are an English six-piece band from Brighton, England. The band initially began as a solo project conceived by Ian Parton; however, after the unexpected success of The Go! Team's debut album, '' Thunder, Lightning, Strike'', Parton recruited band members to play for live performances and subsequent albums.
