Abdulsalam K. Noman is a Yemeni-American politician and soccer coach. He is the first Yemeni-American elected to public office in the state of New York, and the second in the United Stateshttps://legislation.nysenate.gov/pdf/bills/2009/J3640 Early life and career Born in Yemen, Noman emigrated to the United States with his mother and a sister to escape the Yemenite War of 1972. Returning to his alma mater, he became a teacher's aide and the varsity soccer coach at Lackawanna High School.
