Abdullah Gül University (AGU) is a public university, supported by a philanthropic foundation (AGUV), located in Kayseri, Turkey. The university, which was inaugurated in 2010, has 5 schools offering 12 undergraduate and 11 (6 B.Sc & 5 PhD) graduate programs. All courses at AGU are taught in English. AGU first opened its gates to students for the 2013-2014 academic year. Currently the university's main location is Sümer Campus, which covers 280.000 m², but the university has also started the development of a second campus, Mimar Sinan Campus, which will be outside the city center and with a planned total area of 360.000m². Abdullah Gül
Abdullah Gül (; ; born 29 October 1950) is a Turkish politician who served as the 11th President of Turkey, in office from 2007 to 2014. He previously served for four months as Prime Minister from 2002 to 2003, and concurrently served as both Deputy Prime Minister and as Foreign Minister between 2003 and 2007. He is currently a member of the Advisory Panel for the President of the Islamic Development Bank. Advocating staunch Islamist political views during his university years, Gül became a Member of Parliament for Kayseri in 1991 and was re-elected in 1995, 1999, 2002 and 2007. Mimar Sinan ( ota, معمار سينان, translit=Mi'mâr Sinân, , ) ( 1488–1490 – 17 July 1588) also known as Koca Mi'mâr Sinân Âğâ, ("Sinan Agha (title), Agha the Grand Architect" or "Grand Sinan") was the chief Ottoman Empire, Ottoman architect ( tr, links=no, mimar) and civil engineer for sultans Suleiman the Magnificent, Selim II and Murad III. Kayseray
Kayseray () is a light rail street-tram system operating in the city of Kayseri in Turkey. The tracks and station structures were completed and the line opened in 2009. History The project began in January 2006, with a completion target of 1,065 days set. The initial proposal was a reaction to the growing traffic congestion in the central parts of the city, and to reduce this, a mass-transit tram link was planned to cut right across the area, allowing transportation of locals from one part of the region to the other. When opened the initial length of the track was some 17 km, with a total of 28 stations (averaging a distance of 65m/each). Total journey time between each end of the line was expected to be in the region of 45 minutes. 22 trams were planned to be ordered initially.
