Abdul Rahim Malhas
Abdul Rahim Malhas (28 June 1937 – 29 September 2012) was a Jordanian politician who served as Health Minister in the government of Abdelsalam al-Majali between 1993 and 1994. He was member of the 14th House of Representatives between 2003 and 2007. Abdelsalam Al-Majali
Abdelsalam al-Majali ( ; ar, عبد السلام المجالي; born 18 February 1926) is a Jordanian physician and politician who served twice as the 29th Prime Minister of Jordan. Early life and education Majali was born in Al Karak, Emirate of Transjordan (now Jordan) in 1926. He received his medical degree from Syrian University in Damascus in 1949. He also holds a diploma of Laryngology and Otology from the Royal College of Physicians in London, which he obtained in 1953. He was awarded a fellowship by the American College of Surgeons in 1960. In 1974, he received the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa from Hacettepe University. Career Majali was director of medical services for the Jordanian Armed Forces from 1960 to 1969. He also served as minister of health (1969–1971), minister of state for prime ministerial affairs (1970–1971 and 1976–1979) and also, minister of education (1976–1979). The Parliament of Jordan ( ar, مجلس الأمة ') is the bicameral Jordanian national assembly. Established by the 1952 Constitution, the legislature consists of two houses: the Senate ( ar, مجلس الأعيان ''Majlis Al-Aayan'') and the House of Representatives ( ar, مجلس النواب ''Majlis Al-Nuwaab''). The Senate has 65 members, all of whom are directly appointed by the King, while the House of Representatives has 130 elected members, with nine seats reserved for Christians, three are for Chechen and Circassian minorities, and fifteen for women. ''Shihan'' ( ar, شيحان) is a Jordanian weekly newspaper published in Arabic. The word ''Shihan'' is also the name for a mountain located in the southern part of Jordan, close to the city of Al-Karak. History and profile ''Shihan'' is being published weekly by Arab Printers Company. The paper has ties with the Muslim Brotherhood group in Jordan. On 2 February 2006 ''Shihan'' published the caricatures of Muhammad originally published by the '' Jyllands-Posten''. The reaction of the Jordanian street to this controversial move resulted in the newspaper's editor, Jihad Al Momeny, being fired.
