Abdul Malek Ukil
Abdul Malek Ukil ( bn, আব্দুল মালেক উকিল; 1 October 192417 October 1987) was the President of Bangladesh Awami League, Speaker of Parliament, Home Minister, Health Minister, a member of Parliament for many years and a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He was one of the drafters of the Constitution of Bangladesh and also one of the founding members of East Bengal Muslim Students League. Early life Abdul Malek Ukil was born in Rajapur village of Noakhali Sadar Upazila in Noakhali District. His educational life began at Noakhali Ahmadia High Madrasa, from where he passed his Madrasa Examination with general scholarship and a Letter in Mathematics. In the year 1947 he passed his IA Examination from the Magura College in Jessore District. Two years later, in 1949, he graduated in BA from the University of Dhaka ( Dhaka University). Noakhali Sadar Upazila
Noakhali Sadar ( bn, নোয়াখালি সদর) is an upazila of Noakhali District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Noakhali Thana was established in 1861 and was converted into an upazila in 1984. The upazila takes its name from the district and the Bengali word ''sadar'' (headquarters). It is the subdistrict where the district headquarters, Noakhali town, is located. The town is situated on the western bank of the Noakhali Canal, from which it takes its name. The Noakhali Canal was dug in 1660 to control flooding of the river Dakatia. The name Noakhali means "New canal", derived from the Bengali words ''noa'' (new) and ''khal'' (canal). Geography Noakhali Sadar Upazila has a total area of . It borders Begumganj Upazila to the north, Kabirhat Upazila to the east, Suborno Char Upazila to the south, and Komolnagar and Lakshmipur Sadar upazilas of Lakshmipur District to the west. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ( bn, শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান; 17 March 1920 – 15 August 1975), often shortened as Sheikh Mujib or Mujib and widely known as Bangabandhu (meaning ''Friend of Bengal''), was a Bengali politician, parliamentarian and the founding leader of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
