Abd-Al-Minaam Khaleel
Lieutenant General Abd-Al-Minaam Khaleel ( ar, عبد المنعم خليل; 1 April 1921 – 23 March 2022) was a general in the Egyptian Army. Khaleel was born in 1921, and graduated from the Egyptian Military Academy in 1942. Minya Governorate
Minya Governorate ( ar, محافظة المنيا ') is one of the governorates of Upper Egypt. Its capital city, Minya, is located on the left bank of the Nile River. Etymology The name originates from the chief city of the governorate, originally known in Sahidic Coptic as ''Tmoone'' and in Bohairic as ''Thmonē'', meaning “the residence”, in reference to a monastery formerly in the area. The Sultanate of Egypt () was the short-lived protectorate that the United Kingdom imposed over Egypt between 1914 and 1922. Egyptian Military Academy
The Egyptian Military Academy ( ar, الكلية الحربية) is the oldest and most prominent military academy in Egypt. Traditionally, graduates of the Military Academy are commissioned as officers in the Egyptian Army. However, they may serve in other branches and commands of the Egyptian military establishment. The Military Academy contains branches, which provide additional training and skills. It also features a prolonged study system so as to graduate more elite officers to serve in the army, such as the Branch of Military Arts and Thunderbolt School. The Second Field Army is a military formation of the Egyptian Army, formed in 1968. Army headquarters is at Ismailia. It is usually commanded by a field commander of Lieutenant-General rank of at least 34 years' service, and reports directly to the Army General Headquarters and General Staff. The Yom Kippur War, also known as the Ramadan War, the October War, the 1973 Arab–Israeli War, or the Fourth Arab–Israeli War, was an armed conflict fought from October 6 to 25, 1973 between Israel and a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria. Saad Mamoun
Lieutenant General Mohammed Saad Eddin Mamoun, usually known in English as Saad Mamoun (14 May 1922 – 28 October 2000), was an Egyptian war hero and was the commander of the Egyptian Second Army during the Yom Kippur War. He was commissioned in an infantry regiment in 1943 after graduating from the Egyptian Military Academy. He was wounded in action during the 1956 war as the commander of an infantry anti-Tank battalion. Along with Mohamed Abdel Ghani el-Gamasy, Hosni Mubarak, Helmy Afify Abd El-Bar and Kamal Hassan Ali, he was one of the heavyweight and close members of President Sadat's inner circle. A centenarian is a person who has reached the age of 100 years. Because life expectancies worldwide are below 100 years, the term is invariably associated with longevity.
