The Abbouds were a working-class Lebanese Maronite Catholic family that started out in the South End of Boston, and later moved to Roslindale. Abboud's father Joseph worked in a candy factory and his mother, Lila, was a seamstress. He had one sister, Nancy Ash; she and Lila died of breast cancer. Ibrahim Abboud
General Ibrahim Abboud ( ar, إبراهيم عبود; 26 October 1900, in Suakin – 8 September 1983, in Khartoum) was a Sudanese political figure who served as the head of state of Sudan between 1958 and 1964 and as president of Sudan in 1964; however, he soon resigned, ending Sudan's first period of military rule. A career soldier, Abboud served in World War II in Egypt and Iraq. In 1949, Abboud became the deputy Commander in Chief of the Sudanese military. Upon independence, Abboud became the Commander in Chief of the Military of Sudan. Ibrahim Abboud was born 26 October 1900 in Mohammed-Gol, near the old port city of Suakin on the Red Sea. Jumana Emil Abboud ( ar, جمانة إميل عبّود) is a Palestinian artist living and working in Jerusalem. She was born in Shefa-'Amr, Galilee and came to Ontario, Canada with her parents in 1979. She began her studies at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto. In 1991, she relocated to Jerusalem where she continued her studies at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, receiving a BFA and a post-graduated diploma. Aline Abboud (born ) is a German journalist and television presenter. Having studied Arab studies at Leipzig University, she worked for the German public broadcaster ZDF as an editor and reporter with a focus on foreign affairs. Before becoming ambassador to China, he was the ambassador of Tunisia from July 2007 to June 2013 and the ambassador to the United States from March 1999 until July 2007. Fadi Abboud (Arabic: فادي عبود; born 21 March 1955) is a Lebanese politician and businessman. Early life and education Abboud was born into a Maronite Christian family in Sakiyat Al Misk on 21 March 1955. He graduated from the International School of Choueifat and later studied economics at the University of Westminster in London. Career Abboud began his career as the chairman of General Packaging Industries in 1982. He was twice appointed the president of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists. Abboud Qanbar( ar, عبود قنبر), also known as Abu Haidar, is an Iraqi General. On January 13, 2007, he was appointed by Prime Minister Nouri Maliki as the Iraqi commander for the Baghdad Operations Command, which controlled all Iraqi security forces in Baghdad (sans Iraqi Special Operations Forces) and was charged with securing the capital.
