Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , all land. It is bordered by Tioga County to the east, Stewardson Township to the south, Wharton Township to the west and West Branch Township to the north. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 226 people, 88 households, and 69 families residing in the township. The population density was 3.2 people per square mile (1.2/km). There were 457 housing units at an average density of 6.5/sq mi (2.5/km). The racial makeup of the township was 99.12% White, and 0.88% from two or more races. Pennsylvania Route 44 (PA 44) is a -long state highway in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The route, which is signed north-south, is designated from Interstate 80 (I-80) and PA 42 in Buckhorn northwest to the New York state line near New York State Route 417 (NY 417) in Ceres Township. Commissioned in 1927 by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways, PA 44 originally ran from the New York state line to Jersey Shore. Tioga County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 41,045. Its county seat is Wellsboro.
