Abbey Cheek
Abbey Cheek (born March 18, 1997) is an American softball player for thUSSSA Florida Prideof thWomen's Professional Fastpitch League(WPF) and an Assistant softball coach at Bethune-Cookman University. Early life Cheek attended Chapman High School in Inman, South Carolina. Playing career College Cheek attended the University of Kentucky where she played for the Kentucky Wildcats softball team. She is Kentucky softball's career leader in home runs. Cheek led the Wildcats to four consecutive NCAA Division I softball tournament appearances from 2016 to 2019, including three appearances in the Super Regionals from 2017 to 2019. During her senior season, she ranked second nationally with 64 walks and was third with a .602 on-base percentage and .908 slugging percentage. Inman is a city in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 3,665 at the 2020 census, and 2,321 at the 2010 census. Greater Inman is close to the Spartanburg- Greenville-Anderson metroplex. NCAA Division I Softball Tournament
The NCAA Division I softball tournament is held annually in May/June and features 64 college softball teams in the United States, culminating in the Women's College World Series (WCWS), which is played in Oklahoma City. Tournament play and team selection The tournament is unique in that it features four tiers of competition and a loss does not necessarily eliminate a team from contention. In fact, throughout the entire tournament a team can lose a total of four games and still be crowned champions. A total of 64 teams compete in the tournament. 32 teams gain automatic entry into the tournament while the other 32 are selected by the Division I Softball committee. From this field of 64, 16 teams will be given "national seeds" and placed at one of the assigned regional sites, often the home field of each national seed. WTVQ-DT (channel 36) is a television station in Lexington, Kentucky, United States, affiliated with ABC and MyNetworkTV. Owned by Morris Multimedia, the station maintains studios and transmitter facilities on the outer loop of Man o' War Boulevard (KY 1425) in the Brighton section of Fayette County, across Winchester Road from the studios of unrelated station WKYT-TV. National Pro Fastpitch (NPF), formerly the Women's Pro Softball League (WPSL), was a professional women's softball league in the United States. The teams battled for the Cowles Cup.
