Aaron Hill (born 28 February 2002) is an Irish professional snooker player. Career In March 2020, Hill won the EBSA European Under-21 Snooker Championships, as a result, he was awarded a two-year card on the World Snooker Tour for the 2020–21 and 2021–22. On 24 September 2020, Hill defeated current World Champion Ronnie O'Sullivan 5–4 in the last 64 of the European Masters. Cork (city)
Cork ( , from , meaning 'marsh') is the second largest city in Ireland and third largest city by population on the island of Ireland. Snooker World Rankings
The snooker world rankings are the official system of ranking professional snooker players to determine automatic qualification and seeding for tournaments on the World Snooker Tour. The ranking lists are maintained by the sport's governing body, the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association. Each player's world ranking is based on their performances in designated ranking tournaments over the preceding two years. The world ranking list is updated after every ranking tournament. The system of world rankings was inaugurated in the 1976–77 season. Until the 2013–14 season, the point tariffs for each tournament were set by the governing body, but the rankings transitioned to a prize money list in the 2014–15 season. The 2020 Matchroom.Live English Open was a professional snooker tournament that took place from 12 to 18 October 2020 at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, England. It was the second completed ranking event of the 2020–21 season, and the fifth edition of the English Open, first held in 2016. The event featured 123 professionals and 5 amateurs. On the first day of the event, two players withdrew from the event due to COVID-19 – Stuart Carrington tested positive, while Sam Craigie came into contact with Carrington. The 2021 British Open (officially the 2021 Matchroom.live British Open) was a professional snooker event played from 16 to 22 August 2021 at the Morningside Arena, Leicester, England. It was the 2021 edition of the British Open event, and the first since the 2004 British Open. It was the second ranking event of the 2021–22 snooker season, following the 2021 Championship League and preceding the 2021 Northern Ireland Open. It was broadcast by ITV Sport in the UK, and sponsored by Matchroom Sport. The winner received £100,000 from a total prize pool of £470,000. British Open (snooker)
The British Open is a professional snooker tournament, held as a ranking tournament from 1985. The tournament had not been held since the 2004/2005 season, until the 2021/2022 season when it was confirmed as returning to the calendar after 17 years. The tournament had various sponsors and venues over the years. It took place around November each year. Prior to the 1999/2000 season, it was held later in the season. As a result, two tournaments were held in 1999, one for the 1998/1999 season and one for the 1999/2000 season. The European Masters is a professional ranking snooker tournament that has been staged periodically since 1989 as the European Open. Between 2005 and 2008 it was known as the Malta Cup and was the sole ranking tournament in Europe outside the British Isles, before being discontinued.
