Aaja Chemnitz Larsen
Aaja Chemnitz Arnatsiaq Larsen (born 2 December 1977 in Nuuk) is a Greenlandic politician, who is a member of the Danish Folketing for the Inuit Ataqatigiit, representing one of the two parliament seats for Greenland. Education and civil career Aaja Chemnitz Larsen studied Master of Science ( MSc) in Business Economics and Auditing at the University of Greenland and has an Executive management degree from INSEAD. Aaja has since the election to Inatsisartut (Greenlandic parliament) in November 2014 been a member of Inatsisartut which she took a leave from due to the work at the Folketing. In the period from 2012 to 2015 she was Greenland's children spokesman for MIO – National Advocacy for Children's Rights in Greenland. In the period 2009-2012 has she was the director of the Welfare Department in Municipality of Sermersooq and been head of the social department in the years 2007–2009. Folketing
The Folketing ( da, Folketinget, ; ), also known as the Parliament of Denmark or the Danish Parliament in English, is the unicameral national legislature (parliament) of the Kingdom of Denmark—Denmark proper together with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Established in 1849, until 1953 the Folketing was the lower house of a bicameral parliament, called the Rigsdag; the upper house was Landstinget. It meets in Christiansborg Palace, on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen. The Folketing passes all laws, approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government.
