A is a British alternative rock band from Suffolk, England, which formed in 1993. They have released 4 studio and 2 live albums, including their debut ''How Ace Are Buildings'' and the UK top 20 album ''Hi-Fi Serious''. Single releases have also achieved strong chart success, with a UK top 10, four UK top 40 and seven UK Top 100 singles. Shortly after releasing their fourth album, ''Teen Dance Ordinance'', in 2005, the band briefly split. In 2007 'A' reunited for a one-off gig, and have been touring sporadically ever since including playing the main stage at Download Pilot on June 19th 2021. They have not released any further albums since 2005. ''Hi-Fi Serious'' is the third studio album by British alternative rock band A, released in 2002. The name "Hi-Fi Serious" was derived from the name of the hi-fi electronics store Alan Partridge buys a Bang & Olufsen stereo from in the last episode of ''I'm Alan Partridge'' series 1. The tour in support of this album's release was called the 'Inner City Sumo' tour - another reference to ''I'm Alan Partridge'' (Season 1 Episode 1). Charts, sales and legacy The album is certified Silver in the U.K., having sold over 60,000 copies. First single, "Nothing", made it to 9 in the UK singles chart before the album's release, propelling the band higher up the ladder - the album peaked at No. 18 in the UK album charts - and although they were still not seen as a mainstream artist, the album still won them "Best British Band" at the ''Kerrang!'' Deconstruction Tour
Deconstruction Tour was a one-day punk music and skate festival that was staged in various countries across Europe. It first took place in 1999 and occurred annually until 2006. The tour was arranged by Destiny Tourbooking. In general, the tour offered the opening slot of each day to a local, often unsigned band, with the following acts increasing in notability throughout the lineup. The festival also included displays by BMX riders and skaters. Aside from the first year, 2006 was possibly the least successful for the tour, due to problems with booking bands and the limited number of dates that were booked. The tour has not gone ahead since 2006.
