A War Diary
''A War Diary'' is a 2001 Singaporean television series produced by Dream Forest Production. Set in the time of World War II, the series depicts the Battle of Singapore and life in Japanese-occupied Singapore from the point of view of an ethnic Chinese family. The dialogue, however, is primarily in English as the series was aired on the English-language television channel MediaCorp Channel 5. The series was nominated for four Asian Television Awards in 2002, including Best Drama Series. Tay Ping Hui
Tay Ping Hui (born 10 November 1970) is a Singaporean actor and director. In 2014, Tay made his directorial debut with the basketball film ''Meeting the Giant''. Early life Tay attended Catholic High School (Primary and Secondary) and Catholic Junior College. He was conferred a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Economics and Political Science from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of the National University of Singapore.
