''A Very Big Child'' (german: Ein ganz großes Kind ) is a 1952 West German comedy film directed by Paul Verhoeven (German director), Paul Verhoeven and starring Georg Thomalla, Angelika Hauff and Gardy Granass.Osterland p. 114 It was shot at the Göttingen Studios as well as location shooting, on location around Wiesbaden and West Berlin. Paul Verhoeven (German Director)
Paul Verhoeven (; born 18 July 1938) is a Dutch filmmaker. His blending of graphic violence and sexual content with social satire is a trademark of both his Drama film, drama and science fiction films. After receiving attention for the TV series ''Floris (TV series), Floris'' in his native Netherlands, Verhoeven got his film breakthrough with romantic drama ''Turkish Delight (1973 film), Turkish Delight'' (1973), starring frequent collaborator Rutger Hauer. The film was nominated for Academy Award for Best Foreign Film and later received the award for Best Dutch Film of the Century at the Netherlands Film Festival. Kurt Vespermann (1 May 1887 – 13 July 1957) was a German stage and film actor. Career Vespermann was born into an actor's family in Culmsee, West Prussia, Imperial Germany today Chełmża, Poland. Already his great-grandparents were actors and directors at different operas and theatres. Vespermann began his career in 1913 at the Royal Schauspielhaus Berlin and first appeared in silent movies in 1915.
